Reject Mediocrity: Never Settle For Status Quo

This journey began January 1st 2020 when I took my first steps towards reclaiming my health. The 2.4 miles I crawled, walked, and slowly run seemed like an insurmountable feat as I laid in the grass the first day. I had to pick myself up, put one foot in front of the other, and will myself towards the person I wanted to become. I had to find the person I had forgotten I was somewhere along the way when I replaced my health for money in my entrepreneurial ventures.

The lessons I learned I teach through the lens of my journey navigating mountain trails, swimming oceans, and cycling against the world's most tenacious athletes in competition. I never competed against these world-class athletes. I competed against myself. I competed against my crab inside my head. I competed against the course terrain that was relentless.

I traveled over 20,000 miles on my own power since the first day I began. Along the way I lost 100 pounds, several times over. My weight loss was easily over 500 pounds of loss and gains as my body regulated itself back to normal function after falling into a state of complacency.

This is a story of running ultra distance mountain trails. It is a story of battling lakes, oceans, and rivers fighting the competitors for space, doubt, elements, jellyfish, and sharks. The story is about learning the hardest way in the hardest races in the United States by way of failing my way to success. It is not about winning trophies. It is about gaining clarity of your body, mind, and spirit.

This is a testament to inspire you to find your mountain trails to challenge yourself whether it is actual trails or becoming the person you have always desired to be in your life.
