商品簡介

INTRODUCTION Social Justice is "Justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society" (Oxford Dictionary, 2010). Social Justice is to provide opportunity to gain maximum development of the potentials of all members of the society and also their liberty, equality and fundamental rights (Pathak, 2016). Social justice deals with the basic rights of a human being in the society. Every individual deserves equal opportunity to access basic amenities like food, safe drinking water, education, clothing, shelter besides other opportunities. Just action is striving to prevent inequalities and unjust actions not only on others but also on oneself (Drydyk, 2012). The preamble of Indian Constitution ensures social justice to all citizens of India. Article 15 (fundamental rights) implies social equality where all will be treated equally irrespective of caste, religion, race, sex and birth (Prasad, 2002). Youth from the poorest 20% households in India lack opportunity to education and employment as compared to households with better economic conditions (Malik, 2015). Exploitation of natural resources and damaging the ecosystem, various kinds of human exploitation, ever increasing numbers of refugees and displaced people points towards the ever-increasing social injustice, globally. Unhealthy environment takes the lives of 1.7 million children aged below 5 years annually (WHO, 2017). There are 65.6 million displaced people in the world among them,
