In The Shadows Of The Forest

Beth Storm lives in a forest in a time that could be hundreds of years in the future or back in a long forgotten past we have no recorded history of. Where the trees have developed toxins that can destroy or enliven, depending on what's been asked of them. Beth is the keeper of this forest, a woman who lives alone, separate from her nearest neighbours and steeped in magical lore handed down from mother to daughter. A woman who will only have daughters, whose husband will take her name as a form of protection, and who must deal with the mystical dangers hidden amongst the shadows. When she finds a dead boy near her home, everything she's come to believe in changes, and none of the edicts her family have lived under for so many hundreds of years will be followed. Alone Beth must find her own path completely separate from the one her mother gave her. When she does find her way, will she remain the forests protector or will she move on to another life entirely? And who in reality is the man she eventually meets and falls in love with? These are just some of the questions Beth will ask herself over the ensuing years without necessarily finding the answers to them.
