Emerson Goes Reno: An Emerson Adventure by Arthur Flavell Emerson Francis Whitman, whose parents are great admirers of philosophy-and philosophers-is the technical representative of Primary Pulse Energy Systems of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He travels to a variety of shows and expos to assist distributors of the company's product line. The work is pleasant and relatively undemanding, allowing him to travel across the country in a leisurely fashion, accompanied by his wife Priscilla Jeanette, aka PJ. Unfortunately, Emerson also demonstrates a propensity for becoming entangled in sticky situations... through absolutely no fault of his own. Enroute to "the Biggest Little City in the World" to attend the Southwest Energy Expo, the travelers find themselves spending an unexpected night in the desert near Reno. In the wee hours of the morning, Emerson comes face-to-face with the spirit of a powerful medicine woman seeking assistance from outside the people of her tribe. This is an unusual occurrence, but one which promises growth in both spirit and understanding for all parties involved. Emerson and PJ soon find themselves enmeshed in a web of greed, intimidation, murder, and threats of domestic terrorism. ● ● ● Arthur Flavell became both an amateur and commercial radio operator at the age of sixteen. A stint as a U.S. Navy Electronics Technician soon followed. During twenty-three years in Alaska, Arthur worked a range of jobs from commercial pilot to corrections to airfield electronics maintenance for the Department of Defense. Upon retirement, he combined the interest in electronics with a life-long love of reading and began recording audiobooks. Not satisfied with reading the words of others, he decided to write a few of his own, including this one, which is the third in the Emerson Adventure series.
