This book contains Robert Vano´s photographic recollections, 190 images that came from his own archive. Along with black-and-white photos, some of Vano´s color shots are shown for the first time. A considerable part of this magnificent collection was created in New York, Paris, Milan and other places. The book brings a summary of Vano´s work from 1968 to the present, aligned not in a traditional chronological order but rather on the basis of the photographer´s own associations. Vano´s Memories is an exceptional photography book, dedicated to all his fans and lovers of classic and fashion photography.
作者簡介
Robert Vano was born in Nove Zamky (Czechoslovakia) in 1948. Shortly after his graduation from high school he emigrated to the USA in 1967. He started to work in New York as a hair stylist, make-up artist and assistent to fashion photographers (Horst, Glaviano, Fallai) and for magazines like Vogue, Bazaar, Donna, Seventeen, Mademoiselle, etc. In 1984 he started to work as a freelance photographer in New York, Milan and Paris. In 1990 he returned to Czechoslovakia and worked as creative director for the Czech edition of ELLE (1996 - 2003), and as artistic director for Czechoslovak models (2004 - 2009). In 2009 he worked as freelance photographer in Prague and in 2010 he was awarded the European Trebbia prize for creative activity.
