《美國大學生數學建模競賽題解析與研究》是以美國大學生數學建模競賽（MCM／ICM）賽題為主要研究對象，結合競賽特等獎的優秀論文，對相關的問題做深入細致的解析與研究。本輯針對2013年MCM／ICM競賽的3個題目：最佳巧克力蛋糕烤盤問題、淡水資源的調配問題以及地球生態環境的健康臨界點問題等進行了解析與研究。由于參賽論文需要用英語書寫，同時考慮到不同層次讀者的需要，故本書包括兩部分：一部分是地道的英文，另一部分為與之對應的中文，便于讀者在學習建模方法的同時，逐步培養用英文寫作及思考的習慣。
