J. D. Dickey is the author of numerous guidebooks, including Washington, D.C., Directions and The Rough Guide to Washington, D.C. His work has appeared in the Independent and Daily Telegraph along with online publications such as Budget Travel, The Fix, and Void magazine. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
