Later chapters describe the constitutional and legal safeguards for women in India and examine national and international mechanisms for the advancement of women, including the 2011 National Policy for Empowerment of Women. Several chapters are devoted to categories of vulnerable groups, such as adolescent girls, women with AIDS, and women workers. The book includes an appendix of documents. Mishra teaches economics at Post-graduate College, Sakaldiha, Chandauli (Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh. Pandey teaches economics at M. G. Kashi Vidyapeeth, Uttar Pradesh.
