Part One Listening
Dialogue I: Bargaining for a Discount
A: Your center is very nice. But I am a little worried about the prices you are asking.
B: [1]_____?
A: That is not exactly what I had in mind. I know your center is pretty new with state-of-the art facilities, but I think the price is a little bit high, [2]_____?
B: What discount do you have in mind?
A: What I would like is a 25% discount.
B: That seems to be a little high, Mr. Brown. I don't know how [3]_____ with those terms.
A: Well, if we promise future business, that is, to hold at least one convention (會議) in your center each year, is it possible?
B: Yes, but it's hard to see how you can do it. We need a guarantee of future business, not just a promise.
A: What if we reserve (預定) a corporate meeting for 2013, with a guarantee?
