In each of eight chapters he examines one of what he sees as Reagan's accomplishment during the Eighties, with little to no recognition of negative consequences. Among the benefits that Reagan brought to the world: the "containment" of "Soviet-backed" movements in Central America and around the world, the limiting of governmental regulation of big business, the increase in "national morale," and the weakening the power of the federal judiciary. Andrew E. Busch is associate professor of political science at the University of Denver. He is also the co-author of The Perfect Tie: The True Story of the 2000 Election with James Ceaser.
