商品簡介

Leach (special education, Winthrop U.) offers a guide for teachers and other personnel to using applied behavior analysis (ABA) with young children with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities in home, school, and community settings. She combines ABA with natural environment intervention to create a framework for everyday work with children and families and embedding interventions in everyday routines. She provides an overview of the legal mandates for natural environment intervention and the research support for planning and delivering early intervention services in the context of home, school, and community routines to enhance child development and improve the competence and confidence of caregivers in meeting children's needs. She gives an overview of autism spectrum disorders, ABA, and how it can be applied to these disorders and related disabilities in the natural environment. Also discussed are assessment for planning interventions, goal setting, developing teaching procedures, data collection and analysis to monitor progress, fostering collaboration between caregivers and professionals, and putting it all together. Appendices include sample teaching plans for communication, social interaction, independent play and daily living skills, cognitive skills, positive behaviors, and targeted routines, and assessment forms.
