The anthology Elliott edited in 1996 is still good as far as it goes, so the virologists and other contributors here were asked to concentrate on knowledge gained about the family of viruses since then. They also use the current nomenclature, which has changed. They cover the molecular biology of the five genera orthobunyavirus, hantavirus, phlebovirus, nairovirus, and tospovirus; the genetics and evolution of hantaviruses; and Bunhaviridae infections and their diagnosistics in all the genera but tospovirus.
