All the Art That's Fit to Print and Some That Wasn't ─ Inside the New York Times Op-ed Page
商品資訊
商品簡介
The only book on Op-Ed, a phenomenon that began at The NY Times in 1970.
By being the first to offer non-staffers a mainstream platform for their prose, NYT Op-Ed prefigured the Internet's Blogosphere by a quarter century.
Written by 30-year Times Art Director Jerelle Kraus, this whistle-blowing book—composed of 60,000 words and 320 illustrations—is the only place you'll find Op-Ed's tumultuous history. In addition, a multitude of images that were drawn for Op-Ed but killed by editors for being "politically incorrect," "blasphemous," or "sexually over the line" are revealed here for the 1st time, along with the hilarious stories of why they were censored.
