商品簡介

Barrueco (Catholic U. of America, Washington, DC), LA3pez (National Center for Latino Child & Family Research, Maryland), Ong (UCLA), and consultant Lozano present the only known book analyzing specific early childhood bilingual measures. Discussions of general aspects of bilingual assessment, including selecting and administering appropriate approaches and measures, are followed by a culturally and linguistically grounded examination of 37 measures of childhood development available in English and Spanish, comparing them across translation, linguistic, cultural, and psychometric characteristics. Each assessment description includes an overview of key characteristics; major strengths and weaknesses; comparison of English and Spanish versions; basics of administration and scoring; functional considerations, including standardization, norming, validity, and reliability; adaptations and accommodations for children with disabilities; and results of relevant studies. For psychologists, speech-language pathologists, educators, program staff, policy makers, and researchers. Annotation Ac2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
