Kohler (U. of Zurich, Switzerland) has written a rather unconventional biography of Swiss philosopher Jean Piaget by concentrating on the development of his revolutionary theories and thoughts on education over the first 30 years of his life. In this elegantly bound volume by Continuum, the author does devote a few opening chapters to actual events in Piaget's life (one section is titled "Perturbations of Puberty,"), but the focus is primarily on the body of work that influenced other educators throughout the 20th century.
