What might be particularly interesting for an American audience are the perspectives from other countries on the challenges facing educators of polyglot and multicultural populations. Of the 41 contributors, most are based in the UK, with a handful from elsewhere (Australia, South Africa) and two from the United States. The call is for acknowledgement that education systems, at all levels, must respond to a student population of diverse backgrounds. Case studies offer illustration of what happens when changes are made at an institutional level in response to the challenges.
