Beginning in 1997, Misrach began photographing the Golden Gate Bridge at all times of day and night, in every season, from a single vantage point on his front porch. Within this simple framework, in which the subject and its framing remain fixed in every photograph, an alchemy occurs. An astonishing range of atmosphere, light, and color unfolds, bringing fresh revelation and interpretation to a familiar view. The eighty-five images featured here, selected from a series of over seven hundred, offer a unique and surprisingly beautiful photographic meditation on place and time.
作者簡介
Richard Misrach's work has been the subject of a dozen monographs, and has been exhibited worldwide. His publications include Desert Cantos (1987), Bravo 20: The Bombing of the American West (1990), Violent Legacies (Aperture, 1992), Crimes and Splendors: The Desert Cantos of Richard Misrach (1996), The Sky Book (2000), and most recently, Pictures of Paintings (2003).
