《認知語法基礎2:描寫應用》是二卷本著作的第二卷，它介紹了一種全新的與以往完全不同的語言結構和語言學調查概念。認知語法的核心主張是語法與詞匯構成一個連續體，可以通過象征單位（形式一意義配對）加以描述。與目前正統的觀念相對，作者主張語法不能脫離語義獨立存在，它是概念內容的構成和象征關係的表達式。這一卷告訴讀者如何運用在第一卷中講到的理論，將認知語法應用于分析一系列典型語法現象，這些現象主要（但不是惟一）取自英語。
作者簡介
羅納德·W·蘭蓋克是加利福尼亞大學聖地亞哥分校的語言學教授。他撰寫并編輯了多部語言學著作。
