本書是國內加拿大地域文學研究的首部專著。作者以后現代多元文化視角入手，對地域文學的發展進行重新審查，探討地域主義批評的發展、特徵和理論，并以草原和海洋文學為例分別研究了羅斯和麥克勞德的短篇小說集，以文化地理學視角對羅斯的文本景觀進行了全新解讀，對麥克勞德的地域敘事中的時空、地方、地域、主體性等的相互關係進行了深入闡發，突顯出個人和地方在敘事中的彼此構建。
作者簡介
丁林棚，1975年生，山西沁水人。1992年考入山東大學外文系，1996-1999年在北大英語系讀研，方向為加拿大文學。1999年畢業留校任教至今，從事英語專業主干基礎課教學。2001-2006年在北大英語系讀博，期間在加拿大里賈納大學作訪問學者一年。
在核心期刊上發表論文多篇，主編英語教材等約20種，譯著6部。近期出版的加拿大文學譯著包括《復雜的善意》和《兩個人的加拿大》。
