Postgraduate Haematology

The first edition was published in 1972 as Tutorials in Postgraduate Haematology (William Heinemann); and the fifth edition was published in 2005. This sixth edition has four editors: A. Victor Hoffbrand (emeritus, University College London), Daniel Catovsky (emeritus, Institute of Cancer Research, UK), Edward GD Tuddenham (University College London), and Anthony R. Green (Cambridge Institute for Medical Research, U. of Cambridge, UK). They've incorporated the considerable advances of the last five years, particularly in oncology, and yet, with careful editing, have managed to maintain the size of the volume by combining some of the older chapters. Fifty-two contributed chapters begin with coverage of stem cells and haemopoiesis, erthropoiesis, iron metabolism and disorders of haem synthesis, iron overload, and megaloblastic anaemia; the collection concludes with primary immune thrombocytopenia, haemtological aspects of system disease, and of tropical diseases, and neonatal haematology. The contributors are from Europe, the US, and the UK; readership will also be international.
