本書是第二屆生物計算：理論及應用國際會議（BIC-TA 2007）會前論文擴展摘要集。“生物計算”是一個內蘊非常豐富的科學概念，是一門跨越包括數學、生物學、計算機科學、物理學、化學、生理學、進化理論和心理學等學科在內的綜合學科，是當前國際學術界研究的前沿及熱點。BIC-TA系列國際學術會議旨在為國際間從事生物計算及相關領域的專家和學者提供一個交流最新科研成果、探討未來發展方向的國際論壇。
本書共收集了從近1400篇稿件中所錄用的200余篇高水平學術論文的擴展摘要，涉及神經網絡、進化計算、分子計算、群體智能、生物計算等多個研究領域的理論及應用研究。對相關研究領域中的本科高年級學生、研究生、教學及科研人員均有較大的幫助。
