學習英語文，首先要消除恐懼的心裡，絕對不要有學習無力感的狀態出現。人往往喜歡逃避現實，自認意志薄弱而放棄，想要成功就是要有堅持到底的決心，且要有一直往前的渴望。
在學習英語文的過程當中，免不了會碰到困難，遇到失敗，此時一定要勇敢面對，接受挑戰。萬萬不能有一朝被蛇咬，十年怕草繩的害怕心態。
其次要增厚自己的臉皮，為什麼小孩子學習語文如此之快，主要在於他們心中不認識「臉皮」這兩個字。我們很多人超會找藉口，經常有人說「我為什麼英語文學不好，因為在台灣没有學習英語文的環境與條件」，又說「我如果去了美國一定可以將英語文的聽、說、讀和寫學習到呱呱叫」真的是如此嗎？有這種念頭，真是異想天開太天真了。事實上並非那麼簡單，想想看， 每天三餐去找華人開的餐館解決，聊天看報找華人與華文報紙，買車、修車及買保險找華人經紀人，甚至理個頭髪也找華人，如此這般，在美國待了十年甚至二十年英語文的進步程度真令人懷疑。讀者如果有機會，不妨去美國任何一個 China Town (中國城) 走一趟，體會一下在那兒居住的華人不管是老人，還是中年人，甚至年輕人，用英語與他們溝通，簡直雞同鴨講。
要比別人優秀就要付出比別人多十倍的努力，勤能補拙，持續不斷地鞭策自己，心無旁鶩地去追求夢想，鍥而不捨專心一致地朝目標邁進。不要讓絆腳石阻礙了我們前進的腳步，要從失敗中學習，而不要被它們擊敗。面臨快被壓力擊潰時，而情緒低落到幾乎要失去信心的情況下，就能抵擋住懦弱的身心繼續往前挺進。
給自己正面的鼓勵，相信自己，對於學習英語文抱有堅定信念，制定一個自己最高目標的學習方案。大膽地走出去，敢聽、敢說、敢讀、敢寫再加上敢問，如能這樣的撐下去，通過時間，失敗以及重重阻礙的嚴酷考驗，最後一定可以嚐到甜蜜果實。
