作者簡介
Mary Beth Quaranta Morrissey, PhD, MPH, JD, is a Fellow of Fordham University’s Global Healthcare Innovation Management Center and directs Fordham’s Gabelli Graduate School of Business Health Care Management Certificate Program in Public Health, Palliative Care and Long-Term Care. A health researcher and policy advocate, she earned her PhD in gerontological social work at Fordham (2011). Morrissey’s scholarship and policy practice are located at the intersection of health law/policy, public health, and bioethics, which inform her research on pain, suffering, traumatic illness, and palliative care. She has received funding from the Translational Research Institute for Pain in Later Life, an NIA funded center with a focus on chronic pain, for a pilot study of pain and decision making among seriously ill older adults. Morrissey’s recent projects focus on the design of palliative environments, employing participatory action research approaches that foster collaborative and relational care practices across health systems. She has authored numerous publications in law journals and peer-reviewed scientific journals on pain and suffering among older adults, health care decision making, and ethics committees, including her recent book Suffering Narratives of Older Adults (Routledge, 2015). Morrissey has also focused on developing and providing interdisciplinary education and training to health professionals on health care management, palliative care and long-term care, including public health emergency planning and the central role of palliative care in such policy planning.
