British Foreign Policy Since 1945

This text combines an historical and thematic approach to the study of British Foreign Policy since the second World in order to make accessible the principal events and dynamics within a broader historical and cultural context.

Mark Garnett is Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Lancaster University. Among many books and articles on UK Politics, he is co-author ofExploring British Politics (Pearson, 3^rd edition 2012), and British General Elections since 1964 (Oxford University Press, forthcoming, 2014).

Simon Mabon is Lecturer in International Relations at Lancaster University. He is also a research associate with the London based think tank, The Foreign Policy Centre. He is the author of Saudi Arabia and Iran: Soft Power Rivalry in the Middle East (2013) and the co-author ofHezbollah: From Islamic Resistance to Government (forthcoming, 2014).

Robert Smith is a Teaching Associate in the Department of Politics Philosophy and Religion at Lancaster University. He taught British defence and foreign policy as a Senior Lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He worked for the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Iraq advising on the development of Human Rights policies in the immediate aftermath of the invasion of 2003. He has written on the development of policies of humanitarian intervention in the post-Cold War era.
