作者簡介

Emanuela Scarpellini is Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Milan, Italy, and has also taught at Stanford University and Georgetown University in the United States. Her most recent publications in Italian include:Buying in the USA: The Origins of Large-Scale Retail in Italy (1945-1971) (2001); A History of Italian Entrepreneurs (with A. Castagnoli, 2003); All are Equal before the Cash Register. The Supermarket Experience in Italy (2007); The Consumption Revolution: Mass Society and Well-Being in Europe 1945-2000 (editor, with S. Cavazza, 2009). Her book Material Nation: A Consumer's History of Modern Italy, originally published in 2008, was republished in English by Oxford University Press in 2011.
