An Emerging Cosmotheandric Religion? ─ Raimon Panikkar's Pluralistic Theology Of Religions

Panikkar was born to a Catalonian Catholic mother and Indian Hindu father in 1918, and though ordained as a Roman Catholic priest, he received the decisive impulse for his theology from India's multi-religious culture. Komulainen (theology, U. of Helsinki) examines his pluralistic theology of religions, cosmotheandrism--a trinitarian metaphysics integrating the dimensions of theos, anthropos, and cosmos--that bypasses the Enlightenment and draws on primordial religious traditions and existentialist philosophy. He sets the notion into the changing context of the theology of religions, and looks at its starting point and program and the principles behind it. Only names are indexed.
