Legal Challenges in Maritime Security

Proceedings of an international conference held in Heidelberg, Germany, in May 2007; in addition to the written papers presented at the conference, the text contains two distinguished speaker lectures recently sponsored by the Virginia Center for Oceans Law and Policy. Twenty-one contributions are organized into a section of keynote addresses followed by sections on national and international approaches to Maritime security; cargo, port and supply chain security; international maritime security needs and initiatives; piracy; maritime information sharing; and maritime security capacity building.
