The American Takeover deals with the aluminium and bauxite industry in Guyana and Suriname. Basing himself on extensive archive studies, the author describes the emergence of the bauxite industries during and after the First World War, when the Aluminium Company of America (Alcoa) extended its activities to these countries.
作者簡介
Carlo Lamur was born in 1932 in Paramaribo and studied economics and history in Sweden and international relations in Trinidad before embarking on a diplomatic career. Since January 1985 he has been Director General of the Secretariat of Eurocontrol in Brussels (Belgium). Further publications by Carlo Lamur on the Surinamese bauxite industry are forthcoming.
