CARY COOPER is Distinguished Professor of Organizational Psychology and Health and Pro Vice Chancellor at Lancaster University, England. He was Founding Editor of the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Editor of Stress and Health, President of the British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy, and Chair of the Sunningdale Institute in the UK's National School of Government. In 2009, he was elected as Chair of the Academy of Social Sciences. He is a Fellow of the British Academy of Management and also of the US-based Academy of Management. HR Magazine named him the "6th Most Influential Thinker in HR" in 2009. He was awarded the Lord Dearing Lifetime Achievement Award at the Times Higher Education Awards 2010. PHILIP DEWE is Vice-Master of Birkbeck and Professor of Organizational Behavior in the Department of Organizational Psychology, Birkbeck, University of London. He is a member of the editorial board of Work & Stress and the International Journal of Stress Management, and an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Heath Promotion. He has written widely in the area of work stress and coping.
