商品簡介

Disability specialists Schalock (Hastings College, Nebraska, and U. of Kansas) and Verdugo Alonso (U. of Salamanca, Spain) offer leaders and managers of organizations and systems serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) eight strategies for meeting today's challenges of delivering services to their clients. The authors review the factors forcing ID/DD organizations to alter their traditional approaches, then provide change strategies for expanding thinking to include systems, synthesis, and alignment; measuring and using personal outcomes and organization outputs; developing high-performance teams; employing a system of supports; using evidence-based practices to enhance decision making; implementing a performance-based evaluation and management system; creating value and enhanced sustainability through innovation; and overcoming resistance to change. Includes reproducible worksheets, action steps, and examples from successful organizations around the world. Annotation Ac2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
