The case method is a question-based approach to teaching and learning. Giordano (education, University of North Florida) introduces the case method and helps readers apply it to various events and trends in education. The cases are designed to enable readers to differentiate substantive ideas from 'cockeyed' advice, and focus on recommendations for schools made by two groups: persons directly involved with schools, such as teachers and administrators, and those involved indirectly, such as parents, psychologists, and business leaders. Issues addressed in the cases include education and race, religion, and poverty, as well as other issues such as video games and standardized tests. 作者簡介
Gerard Giordano is professor of education at the University of North Florida. He has written ten books about education. His most recent book, which was published by Rowman and Littlefield, focused on the case method.
