He holds an MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of Minnesota, and has written for the Guardian, Slate, American Theatre, the Los Angeles Review of Books, among others. He lives in Brooklyn.

Dan Kois is an editor and writer for Slate's culture section and a contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine. The former culture editor at Slate, he launched the Slate Book Review, and co-hosted the podcast Mom and Dad Are Fighting.
