P.K. Jayasree is Associate Professor in Civil Engineering, College of Engineering Trivandrum, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.? She 16 years of experience in her academic and research career. She is a doctorate holder and also has postdoctoral experience from IIT Madras.? She has a number of laurels to her credit like Dr. T. S. Ramanatha Ayyar Endowment in 1995, M. Tech. degree first rank holder in 1997 from University of Kerala, Researcher of the Year Award in 2012 instituted by the Centre for Engineering Research and Development, Government of Kerala, and Prof. V K M John National Award for the Best Engineering College Teacher from Kerala in 2015.? She is a reviewer of a number of reputed international journals like ASCE International Journal of Geomechanics, ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering and Ground Improvement.? She is a life member of a number of professional bodies in India like Indian Society for Technical Education, Indian Geotechnical Society and Institution of Engineers, India. She has undertaken several sponsored research projects in her institute by receiving funds from various funding agencies and the results from these works are published in various technical journals all over the world.? K. Balan retired from government service as Professor of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering Trivandrum, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala after a long and fruitful teaching and research career of 30 years. He became a doctoral degree holder from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1996.? Along with teaching and research he has served efficiently in various administrative posts like Governing Body Member in National Coir Research and Management Institute, Government of Kerala, Trivandrum; Director of Centre for Engineering Research and Development (CERD); Professor in Charge of Trivandrum Engineering Science and Technology Research Park (TrEST Research Park); R & D Manager in Alyaf Industrial Co. Ltd., Dammam, KSA; Director of Centre for Development of Coir Technology; Managing Director of The Kerala State Coir Corporation Ltd., Alleppey, Kerala; and Assistant Town Planner, Greater Cochin Development Authority, Kerala. He is a recipient of awards like Prof. V. K. M. John National Award of Indian Society for Technical Education for the best engineering college teacher of Kerala State, 2012 and the Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions made in the R&D of geosynthetics (natural fibre geotextiles) in India by CBIP New Delhi and International Geosynthetics Society. Apart from authoring over 100 technical publications in journals and conference proceedings, he has authored a book entitled Coir Geotextiles-Emerging Trends. He is the editor of journals and publications of Asia-Pacific Institute of Soil Bio-Engineering, Kalpetta, Kerala and serves as the Editorial Board Member, Indian Journal on Geosynthetics and Ground Improvement, published by International Geosynthetic Society (India). He is also the founder chairman of Indian Geotechnical Society Trivandrum chapter.?????????????????

V. Rani is Associate Professor in Civil Engineering, Marian College of Engineering, Trivandrum.? She has a teaching experience of over 16 years and an industrial experience 6 years.?? She has proven her ability as a teacher, handling more than 15 courses over these years.? She has guided over more than 20 project works over these years.? She is a life member in various professional bodies like Indian Society for Technical Education, Institution of Engineers India and Indian Geotechnical Society.? She is the joint secretary of Indian Geotechnical Society Trivandrum Chapter in Kerala, India.? She is a very active researcher carrying out a number of sponsored projects by obtaining funds from various research funding agencies.? She has proved her ability in research by publishing the outcomes of her research in various international journals and also presenting them on various international platforms.? She has authored more than twenty technical research papers.
