"For Love of the World" is for writers and actors of heart yearning for courageous theatre that responds to the turmoil, realities, and complexities of today's world. Part reflection, part practice, it's an inspirational guide to wrestling with complicated issues and difficult feelings by writing and staging solo performances of beauty, strength, and hope. The advice and tools within "For Love of the World "are multifaceted, drawing on theories and skills from both drama and the healing arts. Deborah Lubar unifies these two seemingly disparate fields to create writing and performance exercises that increase your understanding of the characters you create and inhabit, then capitalize on the flows and patterns of energies we all share to enhance, deepen, and texture your audience's experience. "For Love of the World" will lead you to craft powerful solo performances that resonate with compassion, emotion, and an awareness of the human condition. Read why the "Boston Globe" wrote "From the throat of a performer as talented as Lubar, words can evoke a world," and discover a fresh, unique method for connecting with audiences.
